I recently signed up to become a supporter at the Professional Valeters & Detailers Trade Association. I am not a professional detailer by trade, but I like to support the industry and help in any way I can, no matter how small of a part I play in it.

If you are not familiar with PVD you can find out a little more about them at their website here, The PVD Trade Association was launched in the summer of 2012 at the Peterborough Show Ground. Originally it was more of a small co-operative with only thirty members pooling expertise and resources, as well as sharing the belief that car care professionals should be skilled, proven, and insured.

Since then, it has grown from strength to strength and they now publish their own magazine called Pro Detailer. Bert, one of the guys over at PVD, kindly sent me a copy of the magazine recently and I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I got it and had a read.

This magazine is superbly well written and covers many different aspects of the detailing industry. ( The Issue I received was number 7 ). The Magazines cover several different Sections.

These include :

Events Section – catch-up with recent car events that include some element of car care, be that a Concours competition or arrive’n’ shine – also includes an Events Calendar.

Products Section – keep up to date with the latest developments in products and equipment, also includes deals and discounts from manufacturers and resellers.

Guides Section – learn how various detailing processes should be done to hone and expand your own knowledge and skills.

Hardware Section – new to issue 5,  the latest hardware as well as offer guides on care & repair for popular devices, from pressure washers to machine polishers.

Showcase – a chance to see some of the most exciting details by PVD members around the UK with big photos and in-depth write-ups of the processes and products used.

Trader Talk – primarily for the car care professional, but relevant for amateurs wanting to find out about industry news, or other small business owners.

Megatest – the biggest car care tests in the industry.
